gcc-i686-linux-android software package provides cross toolchain and binutils for Android/Bionic on ARM, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gcc-i686-linux-android
gcc-i686-linux-android is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gcc-i686-linux-android package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gcc-i686-linux-android *
